Abandoned bikes, left in the urban landscape and used as a spare parts storage, are the subject of the kinetic installation Verlassene Fahrräder. All to often bikes are left in a place over years, fading away slowy-from first losing their saddles to the left-over of their forks.
Discarded material of such bikes is being used to create a sculpture in an over-night-action.
The installation is placed at a bike parking to be still connected to its actual purpose as a means of transport.
Its movement is influenced by wind and people.
Set in motion by wind or people's mechanical influence it is generating sound and light and again movements at other parts of the installation.
